Think of Invisalign as virtually invisible “braces” that use a series of computer-generated clear aligners, which can straighten your teeth just like braces but without the embarrassment or inconvenience of metal braces. Unlike metal braces, Invisalign aligners can be easily removed, allowing you to eat, brush and floss daily. Unlike metal braces, Invisalign lets you eat whatever you want, too, while the aligners gradually move your teeth into their correct positions. You’ll wear each set of aligners for one or two weeks, as prescribed by Dr. Pollatos. She will recommend checkups every six to eight weeks to monitor your progress and give you your next batch of aligners. For some adults and teens, Invisalign can actually straighten your teeth in less time than traditional braces. You wear your aligners for at least 20 to 22 hours per day.

With Invisalign, there are no wires or brackets to get in the way of your normal daily dental hygiene regimen. That means fewer emergency visits for broken wires or brackets. If you are active in sports or other favorite activities, Invisalign lets you stay active. And best of all, the people in your life may not even notice that you’re wearing Invisalign.
